"The new HPAI season, which started in October 2024, entered its final month in September 2025 with 31 outbreaks being reported in poultry and 37 outbreaks in non-poultry birds and mammals in Africa, Americas, Asia and Europe for the reporting month. About 907,222 poultry birds died or were culled during the month, mostly in the Americas.

This reporting month recorded a sharp increase in HPAI cases and losses (died or were culled) in poultry birds , with an increase in outbreaks, particularly in Africa and Europe."
