Huq et al. found that “The primary reasons behind this crisis are a lack of economic viability, changing career expectations of veterinarians, socio-economic barriers such as long travel distances and lower pay rates, and hesitancy to work with large animals stemming from limited exposure and cultural factors, such as the relationships between veterinarians and farmers.”
