Share:
Suarez et al. (2024; preprint) present the results of the second round of FDA retail milk and milk product testing. 167 samples were collected between June 18 and July 31, 2024, and included unpasteurized or raw milk, aged cheese, and products of pasteurized milk such as cheeses, butter and ice cream. 17.4% (29 samples) test positive for influenza A RNA fragments, and all of these tested negative for viable virus during the test of inoculation into embryonating chicken eggs.
